General and operating authority

01Is your MCS-150 on file and updated within the last 24 months?

Your biennial update is due on a schedule set by the last two digits of your USDOT number, whether or not anything about your business changed.

02Is your operating authority active, with no pending revocation?

Check your authority status directly rather than assuming. Authority can go inactive for a lapsed insurance filing without you being notified in a way you noticed.

03Are your liability insurance filings on record with FMCSA?

The policy existing is not the same as the filing being on record. The filing is what FMCSA sees.
